Join the Warming Huts v.2024 Jury!

You’ve walked/skated/cycled the Nestaweya River Trail dozens of times, admired the warming huts along the way, and maybe you’ve even critiqued them to your family and friends… Now’s your chance to make your love of the competition official by applying to join our warming huts jury for the 2024 season!

The best part: NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED beyond your enthusiasm for art, Winnipeg, and winter!

Now in its 14th year, Warming Huts: An Arts + Architecture Competition on Ice has been bringing joy and artistic excellence to Winnipeg winters for over a decade and again this year we’re opening the jury experience to include one lucky member of the public.

The jury includes a team of several professional architects, designers, artists, students – and maybe YOU!

All you need to do is send in a short (less than 60 second) video telling us who you are and why you should be selected – feel free to get creative!

The selected participant will be given the opportunity to spend the day as part of the Warming Huts jury, take part in the anonymous critiquing process - where members don’t know who the teams are or where they’re from until after they’ve been selected -  and spend a full day debating the merits of each submission and selecting three winners.

All applicants must be residents of Winnipeg, 18 or older, and must be available for the day/evening on October 6th, 2023 to meet with your fellow jurors.

The submission deadline is September. 24th, 2023.
